James Lee Davis

James Lee “J.D.” Davis, Jr., age 54, of Ringgold, Georgia went home to be with The Lord Wednesday – August 21, 2024. He was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee and had resided most of his life in Chattanooga Valley. J.D. worked for Chem-Tech in Dalton, Georgia for over sixteen years, where he was a supervisor. He was a very hard worker and started his own lawn care service in 2004. Through his hard work, he grew his business into J.D.’s Lawn Care, aka: Davis Outdoor Creations and had hardworking and dedicated full-time employees. He was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan, enjoyed watching birds eating from his feeders. He also enjoyed watching the Andy Griffith’s Show and loved every minute he spent with his grandchildren. J.D.’s passion was telling others about Jesus, whether it was in a message he was preaching, a scripture passage he had read that day or a conversation. You were guaranteed to get a big smile, usually followed with a laugh, and a hearty handshake. He was always going to talk about something Jesus had done for him, J.D. loved Jesus. He was the Pastor of Peach Orchard Church in Rossville for the past nineteen years. He is preceded in death by his mother: Rita Althea Laney Maxwell, brother: William Lemont Davis, step-brother: Luther Bowman, grandparents: Buddy & Mildred Laney and Ralph & Ruth Davis. He is survived by his wife of thirty-six years: Lana Michelle Jackson Davis of Ringgold, GA, their children: Sarah Davis Horton of Rossville, GA, Adam (Lyndsey) Davis of Rossville, GA, grandchildren: Adalynn and Ethan Davis, Braxton Horton, father and step-mother: James Lee (Barbara) Davis, Sr., of Chattanooga, TN, brother: Jason (Tonya) Davis of Chickamauga, GA, step-brother: Billy Bowman of Chattanooga, TN, and two nephews. The family will receive friends Friday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Saturday from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm – Saturday – August 24, 2024 in the chapel with Leeroy Webb and Troy Simmons officiating. Arrangements by W.L.
