Mr. Smith, son of the late Paul Fletcher Smith and Hattie Ann Wright Smith, was born February 10, 1946 in Soddy Daisy, Tennessee. He was a retired brick mason, faithfully working for over 60 years in the masonry industry. Mr. Smith was a member of Trinity Baptist Church Graysville, Georgia. He enjoyed fishing and collecting classic car replicas. While at home, he enjoyed sitting outside watching nature. Many would see him watching Atlanta Braves baseball or the Cowboy channel (particularly rodeos). Most of all, he looked forward to spending quality time with his grandchildren and his dog Jasper. The family remembers him as a jokester and a man who loved his wife and family immensely.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Charlene Brown and two brothers, Gene Smith and Paul Smith.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 52 years, Linda Smtih; one daughter, Melissa (Bryan) Robertson; one son, James (Nicole) Smith, Jr.; one brother, Kenneth Smith; seven grandchildren, Malinda (Aaron) Harris, Alishia Smith, Brianna Smith, Halie Smith, Jessie (Cody) Stoker, Cole Robertson, and Levi Robertson; seven great-grandchildren, Gunner, Kayson, Abigail, Aleia, Savannah, Aubree, and Will; many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Wilson Funeral Home Wallis-Stewart Chapel on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 12 noon. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 4-8 p.m. and also prior to the service on Saturday, June 7, 2025 from 11 a.m. till 12 noon.
