Jeff Tingle, age 71, resident of Rossville, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025 at CHI Memorial Georgia.
Mr. Tingle, son of the late Benjamin Aldean Tingle, Sr. and Anita Ruth Baldwin Tingle, was born November 16, 1953 in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. He was a member of Fort Oglethorpe Church of Christ and a former member of American Ex-POW of Chattanooga. Mr. Tingle was retired from Lee-Smith, Inc. where he faithfully worked for over 30 years. He was an avid NASCAR fan (particularly a fan of Dale Earnhardt, Sr., Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Chase Elliott). In addition, he was a collector of NASCAR memorabilia. Mr. Tingle enjoyed bird watching; gardening; taking trips to Gatlinburg; and visiting Botanical Gardens. However, he mostly looked forward to spending quality time with his wife. The family remembers him as a quiet gentle man with a kind heart and a big smile.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael D. Tingle, Sr. Mr. Tingle is survived by his wife of 50 years, Shirley Tingle; brother, Ben Tingle; step-mother, Sue Tingle; step-sister, Susan Elrod; four nephews, Mickey Tingle, Tommy Tingle, Denis Tingle, and Timmy Tingle; nieces; cousins; other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held at the Chapel of W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, 555 West Cloud Springs Road, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at 3:30 p.m. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home on Sunday, April 13, 2025 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Chattanooga Area Food Bank Food Assistance, 3209 Wilcox Road, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37411.
