Jerry David Holder Sr.Flintstone

Jerry David Holder Sr., age 73, of Flintstone, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 28, 2025. He was born in Chattanooga to the late John B. Holder Sr. and Stella Bernice Deal Holder, a lifelong North Georgia resident, and a Fairview Baptist Church member. David was employed with MHC Kenworth for more than 30 years. He served his community for over 25 years, starting with the Post Volunteer Fire Department, then the Chief of Walker County Rescue, and a Battalion Chief with Walker County Emergency Services. David was an avid fisherman and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Suzanne Hawkins Holder; children, Robin (Scott) Howard, Tonya (Todd) Driver, Jerry (Mandy) Holder Jr., and Jeremy (Alex) Powell; siblings, John B. Holder Jr., Connie Scott, and Pam Ferguson; grandchildren, Bethany (Daniel) Whiteside, Charity (Hunter) Sweeton, Bradley Powell, Courtland Miller, Grayson (Kesley) Holder, Aidan (Britney) Holder, Anna Driver, and McKenna Holder; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Jim Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in the High Point Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday and prior to the service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that a memorial contribution be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at www.st.jude.org in David’s name. Arrangements by W.L.
