Jerry Madaris, age 61, resident of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025.
Jerry, son of the late Marion Madaris and Edna Mae Parrish Madaris, was born December 30, 1963 in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. He was a graduate of Chattanooga Valley High School. After high school, he joined the U.S. Air Force. After serving in the military, he worked at Florida Atlantic University. Later on, he began working at Walmart, where he faithfully worked for over 25 years. Jerry enjoyed walking in the parks, reading sometimes in the parks, and enjoying nature. While at home, he would listen to classic rock, watch videos on YouTube, and sometimes cook for family and friends. The family remembers him as a generous, kind, and open-minded man – one who would help those in need.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gineane Marie Goldberg Madaris.
Jerry is survived by his daughters, Katie (Michael) Bowen and Tonya (David) Sprague; two brothers, Tommy (Audera) Madaris and Kenny Madaris; three granddaughters, Nova Bowen, Bella Sprague, and Aria Sprague; step-father, Lonnie Buser; nieces; nephews; many other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at Chattanooga Valley Church of Christ, 419 North Nick-A-Jack Road, Flintstone, Georgia on Saturday, June 28, 2025 from 2pm – 6 pm.
