Jerry Morrison, age 61, resident of Tunnel Hill, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at his residence.
Jerry, son of the late Norman Edward Morrison and Alta Bernice Jones Morrison, was born March 12, 1963 in Dallas, Texas. Shortly after birth, Jerry moved to the Ringgold area with his parents. Jerry attended and graduated from Ringgold High School in 1982. He worked faithfully and later retired from U.S. Express. Jerry loved fishing; taking trips, particularly to the mountains. He was Baptist by faith. Many would see Jerry watching competitive game shows, NASCAR, and football on television. He was also a big fan of football, both college (Tennessee and Florida), and the NFL (Atlanta Falcons). The family remembers Jerry as a man who wanted to be remembered before he was sick.
Besides his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by a son, Jeremy Hunter Morrison; nephew, Billy Jackson; sister-in-law, Robin Kilgore; and brothers-in-law, Donnie Brown and Jim Brown.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 34 years, April Morrison; son, Zackery Morrison; five sisters, Johanna Brown, Norma Jean (Mike) Hyde, Kathy Brown, Sherry (William) Jackson, and Patti (Steve) Sharp; one brother, Eddie Morrison; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends; and his dog, Mystique.
Funeral services are scheduled at the Wilson Funeral Home, Wallis-Stewart Chapel, Ringgold, Georgia on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, 2 p.m. with Reverend Mark Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Anderson Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 from 4-8 p.m.
