Jerry Wayne Long, Sr., 78, passed away June 7, 2025, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. Jerry was a member of Pilgrim Way Baptist Church where he loved to serve and sing. He loved being the baseball coach for his kids and grandkids, collecting baseball cards and watching Atlanta Braves Baseball. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Kelley Long and Mildred Florance Bradley; sisters, Marlene Corn, Mary Nell Moulton, Linda Long and JoAnn Henderson.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Levada “Gaddis” Long; children, Jerry Wayne (Karen) Long, Jr., Cynthia Ann (Dave) Liaina, Jamie Marie Daniel, William Kelly Long; sister, Shirley Earnshaw; brother, Ronnie (Nora) King; grandchildren, Kevin, Jacob, Ethan, Coby, Michael, Luca, Jordan, Bryant, Paisley, and Eli; great-grandchildren, Easton, Owen, Eleanor, Ari, Leland, Little Mikey, Paris, and Caleb; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Bill O’Neal and David Brown; beloved dogs, Luna and Coco.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Solid Rock Baptist Church, 3594 Chattanooga Valley Rd. Flintstone, GA 30725, with Pastor Bill O’Neal officiating.
