Jewell Dean Walker, 87, of Flintstone, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. She was born to the late Emmett and Edith Carden in Hamilton County, Tennessee. Jewell was a lifelong resident of the Northwest Georgia area and was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church in Chickamauga, Georgia. She worked for many years as an accountant and was the past president of the National Association of Accountants. Jewell enjoyed taking care of and watching out for others, and she loved helping people. Jewell always enjoyed working in her yard. She dearly loved her family and especially enjoyed her time with her grandsons. Jewell was a very loving, sweet, and kind-hearted person who will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Jewell is preceded in death by her husband, James Hugh Walker; parents, Emmett and Edith Carden; daughter, Donna Lee Walker; sisters, Evelyn Holder and Sue Carden; and brother, Thomas Carden.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Jimmy Reid (Mona) Walker, and Debra Lynn (Terry) Fitzpatrick, both of Ringgold, Georgia; sisters, Pat Lawson of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee and Brenda Smith of Cleveland, Tennessee; brother, Larry Carden of California; grandchildren, James Hugh (Greg Kerr) Walker, Joshua Reid (Brianna) Walker, Mathew James (Megan Kennett) Fitzpatrick, and Marcus Reid (Jenny) Fitzpatrick; and several nieces and nephews.

The family has arranged a time to remember and honor Jewell. Friends and family are invited to join us on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The funeral service, a celebration of Jewell’s life, will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. Following the service, we will proceed to the Forest Hills Cemetery, 4016 Tennessee Avenue, Chattanooga, Tennessee, for the burial.
