Joan T. Long age 87, of Rossville, Georgia was absent from the body and present with The Lord on Monday morning April 3, 2023.
She was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late Bruce and Versie Brooks Thomas. She was a former secretary at Lookout Mountain Golf & Country Club and Mueller Foundry in Chattanooga, Tennessee. As a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Rossville, Georgia for the past forty years, she enjoyed singing in the choir and participating in the Grace Sunday School Class. She loved The Lord, and loved reading and studying her Bible. Her last wish was to give someone the plan of salvation. She enjoyed cooking, helping with the garden and being a homemaker.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother: Bill Thomas. She is survived by her husband of 67 years: Aubrey Long, daughter and son-in-law: Glynis & Daniel Brown, all of Rossville, Georgia. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Forest Hills Cemetery in St. Elmo.
