JoAnn Iris Pace Powell, age 92, of Rossville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 6, 2025.

Born in Chattanooga to the late Robert F. Pace and Evelyn Witson Pace, JoAnn was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga/Soddy Daisy area and a devoted member of the Baptist faith. She lived a life marked by faith, family, and a joyful spirit that touched everyone she met.

JoAnn retired from Choo Choo Television and Satellite after more than 30 years of dedicated service. Following her retirement, she found great joy in helping others celebrate life’s special moments as a wedding planner, known for her beautiful cakes and elegant floral arrangements. When she wasn’t planning weddings, JoAnn could often be found in Florida, where she loved sailing and boating every chance she could.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Curtiss Powell; sons, Chuck Powell and Allen Powell; and brothers, Don Pace, Jerry Pace, and David Pace.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving son and daughter-in-law, Martin and Beverly Powell; sisters, Brenda Griffith and Judy Bass; grandchildren, Brandon Powell, Stephanie Powell, and Jerrod Powell; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service to celebrate JoAnn’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until departure for the cemetery at W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home – Fort Oglethorpe Chapel.

JoAnn’s family takes comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her loved ones in Heaven and rests in the everlasting peace of her Lord.
