Joe William Carter, age 61 of Chattanooga passed away on December 13, 2025. He has lived in the Chattanooga area for most of his life. He enjoyed fishing, and always was the jokester of the crowd.

He is preceded in death by his father Herman Carter; mother Essie Pell; and 5 brothers and sisters.

Joe is survived by his Daughter Brittany Hickman; two brothers Cecil & Beverly Bowling, Ricky Carter; 2 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

A service will be held for the family at a later date to be announced.
