Joel Thomas ChandlerRinggold

Joel Thomas Chandler age 69 of Ringgold, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 8, 2025. Born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee, He moved to Ringgold in 1980 where he has called his home for the last forty-five years. While living in Chattanooga, Joel was an active member of Standifer Gap Baptist Church and sang in The Representatives Quartet. He enjoyed building and drawing house plans and most recently opened Southern Traditions with his daughter. Above all, Joel loved spending time with his family and mentoring others. For many years he coached baseball and softball at the recreation field for not only his kids but others. Joel loved spending time with his grandchildren and teaching them the importance of life lessons and a good work ethic.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl Thomas Chandler and Carrie Mae Baker Chandler.
Joel is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Gail Cook Chandler; their children, Joshua (Sandy) Chandler, David Chandler, Deedra (David) Bryant; his siblings, Jackie Ford, Carldon Chandler, Vera Vance, and his grandchildren, Sydney, Kylan, Gavin, Hudson, Kassidy, Anakin, and Hagan.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
