John Doyle Romans, 77, of LaFayette, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 22, 2023. He was born in Jackson County, Alabama on September 16, 1945 to the late, John & Effie Sherrill Romans and had lived in the North Georgia area for most of his life. He retired from TNT Holland as a Union Truck Driver after more than 20 years of service and was a member of Woodstation Baptist Church. His life revolved around his family and of course farming was his passion. He was a true antique car enthusiast and was a loving and devoted brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend that will be truly missed by all who knew him. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Stan Romans and Phil Romans.

Survivors include his loving wife of more than 59 years, Jayne Romans; children, John Scott “Little John” Romans & (Sherry Cannon), Lisa Rector & (Bill) and Rebecca Vass & (Nathan); brother, Anthony “Tony” Romans & (Marie); sister, Sherry Shrader & (Marty); 5 grandchildren, Ashley Bell, Hayden Rector, Bailey Romans, Emma Vass and Gage Vass; great granddaughter, Amelia Bell and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family & friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 26, 2023 in the LaFayette Chapel with Bro. Damon Perry officiating. Burial will follow in the Arnold Cemetery, 122 Round Pond Road, LaFayette, GA. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Friday and prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
