Joshua Douglas Hough, age 51, resident of East Ridge, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at his residence.
Josh, son of Gwendolynn Jean Douglas Hough and the late Leslie Edward Hough, was born May 4, 1974 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He grew up in East Ridge, Tennessee, moved to Red Bank, Tennessee and later Kearney, Nebraska before returning to East Ridge. Josh worked over fifteen years at Cabela’s in Kearny, Nebraska and then worked at Chattanooga Shooting Supply for the last four years. He enjoyed collecting fantasy toys, spending time with his dogs, and having dinner with friends. Most of all, he enjoyed “computer gaming” with friends. The family remembers Josh as a loyal, honest, and loving person who was always dedicated to family and friends.
Besides his father, Josh was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Forrest Edward Hough and Joyce Ellen Lord Hough, and maternal grandparents, Roy Ewen Douglas and Doris Marie Askins Douglas.
Josh is survived by his mother, Gwen Douglas Hester; step-father, Melvin Hester; step-sister, Ginger Hester; uncle, Michael Schloter; first cousins, Jeremiah Christopher Douglas, Nicholas Allan Douglas, and Victoria Danielle Breazeale; God son, Nick Holladay Elser; special friends, Adisa Music, Chris and Jenna Pitts, Mina Dugener, Matt Rice, Jeremy McCoy, Matt Boone, Brock Hall, Roy Hessner, Kathryn Nesland, Stacy Whisenant, Dave Holmes, Patricia Hagan, Serena Millette, Roy Elser, and Marti; many other friends.
Celebration of Josh’s life will be at Calvary Gardens Mausoleum, 2200 South Cedar Lane, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 4 p.m.
