Joy D. Palmer Fletcher age 60 of Chickamauga, Ga. went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on November 15, 2025 She was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee to James Williard Palmer and Winnie Jo Cureton Palmer. She was a member of Catoosa Baptist Tabernacle in Ringgold, Ga. Joy worked at Huddle House in Chickamauga, Ga up until she became ill. She brought joy to all those who knew her. Joy loved to laugh, have fun and she helped to care for many of those who were sick including her mother and daddy. In 1990 Joy, our mother and cousin went to school together and graduated receiving their GED's together. She still gave the gift of life at the end of her life's journey by being an Organ Donor. Through this she will continue spreading "Joy" to others. Her pride and joy in life was her two sons, granddaughter and her fur baby Keylee. Joy loved them with an unending love.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Winnie Jo Cureton; father, James W.
Palmer; stepmother, Joan Palmer; niece, Brandy Lively; paternal grandparents, James Mathew and Pernia Mae Palmer; maternal grandparents, Victoria and Noah Cureton; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Left to cherish her memories are her sons Jonathan (Carly) Foutz of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Shane Parrish of Ringgold, Georgia; granddaughter Fallon Foutz of Fort Wayne, Indiana; sisters, Corina(Fran) Eddie Young of Ringgold, Georgia and Rhonda (Daryel) Sisk, of Rossville, Georgia; niece, Madison Young of Ringgold, Georgia; several aunts; uncles; cousins; and friends.
The family would like to say a Special thank you for the love and support given to Joy and our family, CHI Memorial Hospital Organ Donor Team, Amedisys Home Health, Dr. Phade, her friends, Robert Beasley, Tony Grimes and neighbor Ricky Meeks.
Graveside services will be held at Chickamauga City Cemetery on Thursday, November 20, 2025, 2 p.m. with Reverend Wilton Grimes and Reverend Justin Gazaway officiating.
