January 24, 1941 - December 21, 2025

Judy Ann Colburn, 84, of Ringgold, Georgia, peacefully went to rest in the arms of Jesus on Sunday morning, December 21, 2025. Judy is now at peace in the arms of her Savior. In His light, we find comfort.

Judy graduated from Kirkman High School and later from Chattanooga State Community College. She had a lifelong hunger for learning and gave 110% to everything she did.

Born January 24, 1941, Judy lived a Christian life of love and devotion. Judy had a pure heart and was a faithful servant of the Lord. Her kind spirit left everyone a little sweeter, whether you knew her for a moment or a lifetime. Her most important role was being a faithful servant to God, and she enjoyed her many roles of being an adoring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend.

Judy was a proud member of Professional Secretaries International (P.S.I.) and had a 25-year career working for several government agencies, including Social Security, Tennessee Department of Health (WIC), Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, and retired from the Department of Justice/Bankruptcy. Once retired, Judy enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, painting, studying the Bible, winning rummy card games with her husband, Charles, and watching Hallmark movies. She enjoyed her coffee and chocolate.

Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband for 64 years, Charles; her parents, Dewey and Bertha James; her sister, Helen (Jimmy) Armstrong; and her brother, Jimmy Ray James.

Judy will continue to be cherished and loved in memory by her son, Steve Colburn; daughter, Debbie (Kevin) Phelps; her brothers, Bill (Joan) James and David James; her sisters, Sue (Varnal) Alford and Deloris (Larry) Gazaway; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Homes, Wallis-Stewart Chapel in Ringgold, Georgia.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in Judy’s memory be made to the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center of your state or preference.
