On Saturday the first day of July 2023, Judy Dale Williams passed away peacefully at her home where she lived with her baby girl Rachel. Her family surrounded her, singing her to heaven.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years Big John Elmer Williams; mother and father, Annie and Garvin Johnson; sister, Elizabeth Ann Johnson; brothers, James Garvin Johnson Jr., John Wayne Johnson, and Christopher William Johnson; and great-grandson Hunter Dale Helton.
She leaves behind a big family who loves her dearly: son, Vernon (Linda) Williams; daughters, Jane Williams (Steve Lewis), Gloria Williams Durham, Rita (Williams) Castillo, Joyce (Eric) Green, and Rachel (Brian) Mitchell; grandchildren, Roger Pevehouse, Alesha (Little David) Thompson, Brandy Williams, Kayla (Allen) Amos, Seth Roark, Ciji Hall, Brittaney Clements, Nikita (Rusty) Helton, Nia Stevenson, Eric “Bubba" (Amberley) Mitchell, John Mitchell, José John Castillo, Austin Castillo, Tifiany (Aaron) Pontier, Courtney Pence, and Brandon (Shelby) Brown; 33 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; sister, Brenda Joyce Wilson; several nieces and nephews and many, many cousins.
Judy was a member of Chamberlain Road Full Gospel Church.
In her early life she worked at Shepherd Hills as a CNA. She retired early and spent most of her life as a housewife raising children and grandchildren. They were the highlight of her life.
Judy loved to sing. She enjoyed playing Candy Crush where she got to level 1,000. She enjoyed sewing, shopping online, cooking, and crocheting. She loved to fish in her younger days with her grandkids and she enjoyed spoiling her family.
The family would like to thank Hearth Hospice: Cassandra Wallin, Crystal, and Chris for being there until the end.
The funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 pm in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastors Ed Hise, Dennis Chambers, and Lowell Cantrell officiating. Honorary preachers are Randall Abbott and Alfred Holland.
Interment will be at Chattooga Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Roger Pevehouse, Eric Mitchell, John Mitchell, Austin and John Castillo, and Brandon Brown.
Honorary pallbearers are Rusty Helton, Steve Lewis, Tony Haynes, Eric Green, and Brian Mitchell.
Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
