Katherine Anita “Kathy” Burr EllisChickamauga, GA

Katherine Anita “Kathy” Burr Ellis, 73, of Chickamauga, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 29, 2023.

She was born in Chickamauga, Georgia on December 27, 1949 to the late, Henry & Opal Hollingsworth Burr and had lived in the Chickamauga area her entire life. She was a member of Battlefield Baptist Church and loved spending time with her family & friends. She was a loving and devoted mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend that will be truly missed by all who knew her. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Ellis; brother, Floyd “Bucky” Burr and sister, Rita West.

Survivors include her daughters & sons-in-law, Staci & Tommy Ivester and Katrina & Gregory Henderson; brother, Terry Burr; sister, Phyllis Kirkpatrick; 5 grandchildren, Brandi Roden, Jeremy Bankston, Jessica Taylor, Coy Ivester and Joseph Ridge; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and extended family & friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Thursday, May 4, 2023 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Pastor David Crane officiating. Burial will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 ~ 8 p.m. and prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
