Kimberly “Kym” Michelle Johnson James, age 53, of Ringgold, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 24, 2025. A lifelong resident of Ringgold, Kym was a devoted member of New Liberty Baptist Church and was a baker at Walmart for the last five years. She had a love for reading suspense and mystery novels and could often be found exploring thrift stores in search of unique home décor and craft treasures. Kym also enjoyed watching The Pioneer Woman for inspiration in her own home and kitchen.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Sue Johnson Vess; grandfather, Melvin Wright; and aunt, Diane Hollaway.
Kym is lovingly survived by her three children, Logan (Allison) James, Hayden James, and Chloe James (Hezekiah); her parents, Rick and Cathy Johnson; brother, Kevin “Shane” Johnson; grandmother, Ruby Wright; and her cherished granddaughter, Mya Stackpole.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at New Liberty Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Danny Henson officiating. Interment will take place at New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
