Larry Duane Cooper age 57, of Flintstone, Georgia passed away Sunday, May 12, 2024. He was a graduate of Chattanooga Valley High School – Class of 1984 and a lifelong resident of Flintstone, Georgia. He was of the Christian faith. Duane was a current employee of the Electric Power Board of Chattanooga, where he was a Senior Network Technician. Duane had enjoyed drag racing and playing golf. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, riding motorcycles with his wife Sherry and had been able to travel this way to many areas of the country. They never missed watching a Georgia football game and were avid fans of the Atlanta Braves. Duane is preceded in death by his wife of almost thirty-seven years: Cheryl “Sherry” Dawn Derryberry Cooper, parents: Larry and Ernestine Cooper. He is survived by his sons: Derik (Brooke) Cooper of Nashville, TN, Dylan (Shelby) Cooper of Lookout Valley, TN, a sister: Debbie (Dan) McCarty, beloved grandchildren: Rhiley, Olivia and Henry, several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends Friday – May 17, 2024 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home. A Celebration of Duane & Sherry’s Life service will be held at 7:00 pm – Friday – May 17, 2024 in the chapel with Cecil Gravitt officiating. Arrangements by W.L.
