February 27, 1944 - February 17, 2026
Larry Franklin Wren, age 81, of Chickamauga, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. A lifelong resident of Chickamauga, Georgia, he was of the Baptist Faith and a hard worker. After high school, Larry began working at Service Electric as a shop boy and eventually worked his way to be the owner until selling the business in the late 1990’s. He was a proud member of IBEW 175.
Larry had a deep love for the outdoors and especially cherished life in the cove. Hay farming brought him great satisfaction, and he took pride in caring for his land and animals. Throughout his life, he was a devoted caretaker to an assortment of beloved pets and livestock, treating each with patience and kindness. In his younger years, Larry was an avid fisherman and hunter, later finding equal joy in simply watching the deer roam rather than harvesting them.
Above all else, Larry treasured his family. His greatest happiness came from time spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His steady presence, strong work ethic, and gentle love for both people and animals will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Larry is preceded in his death by his son, Michael Wren; his parents, Clarence Wren and Margaret “Peggy” Wren, as well as his brothers, Roger and Billy Wren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Janet Treadway Wren; his daughter, Lisa (Colby) Wood, grandchildren, Chase (Kinslee) Wood and Colt Wood, as well as his great grandson, Tripp Wood.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A private graveside service will be held later. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to LOL ministries of Elizabeth Lee Methodist Church at P. O. Box 126 Chickamauga, Georgia 30707. An online guestbook is available at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Homes, Chickamauga, Georgia.
