Leonard Charles “Charlie” Colburn age 82, of Ringgold, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 10, 2025. Charles was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, and brother. Charles worked from 1965 to 1988 at OTASCO Auto and Appliances, owned a retail furniture store in Rossville, then worked until he was eligible to retire at Walden Security at The Republic Centre in downtown Chattanooga. Charles was an avid sports fan, enjoyed crossword puzzles, card game tournaments with his beloved wife, Judy, listening to music, and there was hardly a riddle he couldn't answer.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Colburn and Evelyn Floyd Colburn; sister, Marilyn Goforth Minor; brothers, Gary Colburn, Johnny Colburn, and Harold Goforth.
Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Judy Ann James Colburn; children, Steven Colburn and Debbie Phelps; sister, Margaret (Joe) Pennington.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Alzheimer’s Association at https://www.alz.org. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Homes Wallis ~ Stewart Chapel, Ringgold, Georgia.
