Lucy “Marie” AllenRossville

Lucy “Marie” Statom Allen, 96, of Rossville, went home to be with the Lord on August 7, 2025, at a local care facility. Marie cherished her family. She especially loved cooking for family gatherings and holiday celebrations, filling the table with everyone’s favorite dishes. When she wasn’t in the kitchen, she could often be found cheering on the Atlanta Braves.

Born in Sewanee, Tennessee, to the late Leon and Cleo Marie Statom, Marie spent most of her life in the Rossville area. She was a devoted member of South Rossville Baptist Church, retired from Rossville Yarn, and was a proud lifelong member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester D. Allen, and her daughter, Donna McDonald.

She is survived by her daughters, Deborah (Mark) Lawson and Janet Middleton; seven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; sixteen great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel of Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Burns officiating. Interment will follow in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park in Rossville. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the service hour in the parlor of the funeral home.
