Malcolm “Mike” Dodd Jr.
May 2, 1962 - October 9, 2025
Malcolm “Mike” Dodd, Jr. age 63, resident of Chickamauga, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at his residence.
Mr. Dodd, son of Malcolm Earl Dodd, Sr., and Charlotte Annette Stallings Dodd, was born May 2,1962 in Rome, Georgia. He was a member of Cross Connection Church and was a veteran where he served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Dodd was heavily involved in civil war reenactment, and served as Commander of Royal Rangers; Camp Commander, Chickamauga Sons of Confederate Veterans; and member of the 37th Georgia Reenactors. He enjoyed gardening; looking for certain rocks and fossils; and hiking. Mr. Dodd also enjoyed taking trips and had great memories of the trip he took to Scotland with his wife. He was very dedicated to the memory of veterans and would place flags on veteran graves. While at home, many would see him cooking; grilling; and sewing cloth garments. He would also relax at home and watch classic western and war movies and listen to classic southern rock music. Most of all, he looked forward to spending quality time with his family. The family remembers him as someone who spoke his mind – a loyal God -fearing man, always dedicated to his family or any kind of work project.
Mr. Dodd is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sheila Dodd; parents, Malcolm Dodd, Sr. and Anne Dodd; three children, Shawn Sisk, Brian (Beth) Sisk, and Lori (Allen) Burney; one sister, Michelle Berry; two brothers, Barry (Barbara) Dodd and Scott (Natalie) Dodd; four granddaughters, Haylee, Tiffany, Lily, and Khloe; close friends, John Culpepper and Mike Jones; several nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held at Cross Connection Church Assembly of God, 6812 LaFayette Road, Chickamauga, Georgia on Saturday, October 25, 2025, 2 p. m. with Pastors Joey Kelly and Ken Wiggins officiating.
I lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
