Mamie Dyer, age 94, resident of Rossville, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at Buell Haven, Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Mrs. Dyer, daughter of the late Charles W. West and Ira Thelma Bohannon West, was born March 13, 1931 in Hamilton County, Tennessee. She was retired from Zabo Foods where she faithfully worked as an administrative assistant for several years. Mrs. Dyer was a member of Anchor of Hope Baptist Church for over 20 years and enjoyed those church socials with the seniors, where everyone knew her for her cherry cobbler. While at home, Mrs. Dyer enjoyed crocheting; working jigsaw puzzles; and being on her computer where she was well-known for her ability to create holiday cards. Many would also see her watching Turner classic movies and being actively involved with QVC. The family remembers her as a loving lady who always looked forward to spending quality time with her family.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Vance Jackson; second husband, Murice Dyer; and three sisters, Mary Charlotte West, Marie Gilley, and Virginia Koertge.
Mrs. Dyer is survived by one daughter, Wanda McCurry; three sons, Billy (Debbie) Jackson, Charles Wayne (Margie) Jackson, and Randall (Rebecca) Jackson; two step-sons, Mark Dyer and Scott (Marietta) Dyer; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the Chapel of W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, 555 West Cloud Springs Road, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, 1 p.m. with Reverend (Dr.) Dan Mour officiating. Interment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens, Hixson, Tennessee. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m.
