Margaret Fay Loftin, 88, of Rossville, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 6, 2024. She was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to the late Pauline Holcomb and Delo Brock. Margaret was a lifelong Northwest Georgia resident and a member of Delray Baptist Church in Rossville, Georgia. Margaret dearly loved her family. She would light up when she could spend time with her grandchildren. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh and have fun with her family. Margaret loved the Lord and enjoyed spending quiet time reading her Bible and spending time with the Lord in prayer. Her family greatly loved Margaret, and she will be missed.
Margaret is preceded in death by her mother, Pauline Dodd Holcomb; son, Jimmy McGill; daughter, Geraldine Strickland; granddaughter, Margaret Strickland; brothers, Kenneth Holcomb, Robert Chambers, and Jerry Chambers.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Paul (Darlene) Holcomb of Dry Fork, Virginia; sister, Barbara Alexander of Rossville, Georgia; grandchildren, David (April) Holcomb, Amy (Brandon) Lanter, Jonathan (Cara) Holcomb; six great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 9, 2024, and from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 10, 2024. The funeral service, a tribute to Margaret's life, will be held on Monday, June 10, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Following the service, Margaret will be laid to rest at Lakewood Memory Gardens, 325 Greenslake Road, Rossville, Georgia.
