Margie Ruth Jones Stevens, 84 of Rossville, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2023.
She lived most of her life in Woodstation. Margie was an active and faithful member of Westside Baptist Church where she served in the Hospital ministry and the Senior Soldiers. She enjoyed cooking and canning and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie M. Stevens; son, Earl Shepherd; parents, Thomas and Nannie Jones; sisters, Martha Russell, Norma Woody, and Mary (Robert) James. Survivors include her children, Gail (Randy) Lewis of Rossville, Ricky Shepherd of Ringgold, Pam (Mark) Mitchell of Ringgold, Ray (Dawn) Shepherd of Rossville; step-children; Jimmy Stevens, Sharon Watson, Chris (Mel) Stevens, Marshal (Jennifer) Stevens; siblings, Tommie Mozingo, Sheila (Ken) Lerch, Bill (Peggy) Jones, Guy (Debbie) Jones, Wayne (Jernen) Jones; brother-in-law, Charles Woody; nine grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, numerous step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank her sister-in-law, Debbie Jones for her help throughout the years as well as the staff at Parkside Nursing home for the compassionate care over the last three years.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2023 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Gary Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Woodstation Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to All for Christ Sunday School Class or Westside Baptist Church at 3399 Lakeview Drive Rossville, Georgia 30741.
