Marion Francis Howard, 66 of Rossville, GA passed away Tuesday, August 1st, 2023.
Marion was born in Chattanooga, TN and raised in Flintstone, GA. He graduated from Chattanooga Valley High School and was a member of Chattanooga Valley Baptist Church. Marion retired after 38 years of service with Rock-Tenn Paper Mill. He enjoyed hunting on Pigeon Mountain, camping with his buddies, fishing, and doing anything outdoors. Marion was also an avid GA Bulldogs fan and couldn’t have been happier when his Dawgs won the national championship. “Go Dawgs!” He was a fun loving, happy, outgoing guy who was affectionately known as “Porky” and “Pig” by his friends. He had a big heart and was loved by all who knew him.
Marion was preceded in death by his parents, Bassil and Louise Howard; sisters, Glenda Eldridge and Delores Jolly; and parents-in-law, Mary and LaVaughn Walker.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Teresa Howard; son, Mickey Howard; siblings: Larry (Joyce) Howard, Jane Groce, Doris (Jake) Everett, Rita (Wayne) Bean, Ed Jolly, and Guy Jolly; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 6th, 2023 from 11am until the funeral hour at 2pm in the South Crest Chapel with Pastors Ronnie Fleming and Terry Burns officiating.
