Martha Jane Morris Bowen, 85, of Fort Oglethorpe went home to be with our Lord on Friday, August 4, 2023. She was born at home on December 22, 1937 in Sinking Cove, Tennessee to the late James Thomas Morris and Eliza Elizabeth Willis Morris. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, camping, canning vegetables and spending time with her family. After working for Provident Life and Accident Insurance Company for several years, she changed roles to full time homemaker and mother, at which she excelled. Her career was her family.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Ben Bowen and her siblings, Amy Morris Stubblefield, Willie T. Morris Perry, Jennie Frances Morris, Margaret Elizabeth Morris, Cal Russell Morris and James Paul Morris.

Survivors include her sons, Alex (Stella) Bowen and Paul (Jan Mellon) Bowen; daughter, Christa Bowen Stoker; sisters, Elaster Sells, Flora Rogers, Lois Cunningham and Jimmie Steele; and grandchildren, Nicholas Bowen and Lydia Bowen and several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
