Martha “Marty” Jane Brown McCarver
April 3, 1948 - December 2, 2025
Martha “Marty” Jane Brown McCarver, age 77, peacefully entered the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.

She was born on April 3, 1948, in Lexington, North Carolina to the late Carl Brown and Artie Masingo Brown. She was a graduate of Lexington Senior High School and was a member of the Future Nurses of America. She later earned her nursing degree from Western Kentucky University. She was a longtime resident of the Northwest Georgia and Chattanooga area, with several years also spent in Franklin, Kentucky.

Marty was a member of Westside Baptist Church in Rossville, Georgia, and also dearly loved her family and friends at Shiloh Baptist Church in Rossville, Georgia. Worship held a special place in her heart. Above all, Marty’s life was defined by her faith in Jesus. He was her lifeline, her strength, and her constant companion, and she lived with the purpose of pointing others toward Him. Marty was a kind, gentle, and loving mother, nana, daughter, sister, and friend. She was funny, intelligent, creative, and deeply cherished by all who knew her.

A woman of abundant creativity, Marty had an exceptional green thumb and found great joy in sketching, painting, cross-stitching, quilting, and many other crafts that brought beauty and happiness to her life and to those around her. She devoted many years to caring for others as a nurse and later transitioned into property management, retiring after overseeing multiple locations throughout Northwest Georgia and the Chattanooga area. In every role she held, Marty served with her whole heart, sharing her talents with dedication and grace.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy McCarver; her parents, Carl Brown and Artie Masingo Brown; her stepson and daughter-in-law, Jody and Susan McCarver; and her great-grandson, Micah Starr.

Those left to cherish her memory include children: Carla (Josh) McIntyre; Laurissa Stone; Jennifer (Jeremy) Sanford; and Jamie (Anthony) Starr; stepson: Daniel McCarver; bonus daughter: Rhonda Jones; grandchildren: Taylor Flood; Conor McCarver; Austin (Kynnley) Starr; Annabelle McCarver; Hannah McIntyre; Joshua McIntyre; Koby McCarver; Keeton McCarver; Kyle McCarver; Kaleb McCarver; and bonus grandson: Daniel Swaggerty; sisters: Susan Wall; and Joan (Dean) Smith; nieces: Wendy (Randy) Nace; Betsy Wall; and Lauren Smith; nephews: Chad Smith; and Ryan (Ashley) Smith; and her best friend of 46 years, Sue Ferguson.

A Celebration of Life Service honoring Marty will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Shiloh Baptist Church in Rossville, Georgia. Family and friends will be received beginning at 12:00 p.m., with the service following at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Gary Moore.
