Mary Smith Wade
Mary Smith Wade, born on July 6, 1932, on the Naval Base in Lakehurst, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary K. Arnold and Walter "W.D." Arnold, as well as by her first husband, Robert (Bob) A. Smith, and her second husband, William Wade.

Mary is survived by her sons, Michael L. Smith and Robert David Smith. Michael is married to Britt Smith, and they have two children, Erin Smith and Alex Murphy (husband Brandon Murphy). David has four children: Chris, Craig, Charles, and Elaine Smith. Mary is also survived by several great-grandchildren.

A proud graduate of Gordon Lee High School's class of 1949, Mary pursued her passion for nursing at Dalton College. She dedicated over 30 years of her career to Hutcheson Medical Center, where she served as a devoted Registered Nurse in the labor and delivery unit. Her colleagues and patients remember her for her thoughtfulness and kindness, bringing comfort and care to countless families.

Mary was an avid bowler and a passionate fan of women's college basketball, enjoying many games with enthusiasm and joy. Her love for these activities brought her much happiness and forged many friendships.

Mary's legacy is one of love and generosity. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Mary will be laid to rest at the Chattanooga National Cemetery, where she will be honored and remembered.
