Melba Sue McGehee Jackson, 82, of Rossville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 16, 2023.

She was born in Fayette, Alabama on October 27, 1940 to the late, Ossie Floyd & Bessie Mae Taylor McGehee and had lived in the North Georgia area since the early 60’s. She was a member of Chattanooga Valley Church of Christ and was previously employed with McInvale Dry Cleaners in Forestdale, Alabama for more than 10 years. She was an avid Alabama Football fan, who enjoyed camping, coloring, arts and studying her bible was her main priority. She was a loving and devoted mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend that will be truly missed by all who knew her.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Howard Jackson; son, Sidney Howard Jackson, Jr.; step-sons, Wayne Allen and Barry Allen and brothers, Larry Rudolph McGehee, Mickey Lee McGehee and Johnny Floyd McGehee.

Survivors include her children, Patricia Jackson and Charles “Chuck” Allen & (Rebecca); brother, William McGehee; 4 grandchildren, Alicia Diane Loften & (Stanley), Molly Anita Dunagan & (Travis), Tina Michelle Cavett and Holly Marie Jackson; several great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family & friends.

Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 29, 2023 at the Chattanooga Valley Church of Christ with Minister Reid Perry officiating. The family will receive friends in the Annex building immediately following the service at the church. Burial will take place at 2 p.m. CST on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Crestview Memorial Gardens in Adamsville, Alabama.
