Mr. Melvin Harold Coley Jr.Rossville

Melvin Harold Coley, Jr., age 74, of Rossville, Georgia went home to be with The Lord Monday, February 17, 2025. He was born in Dalton, Georgia to the late Melvin Harold Coley, Sr., and Mildred Walker Coley. Melvin retired from Ryder Logistics, where he was a truck driver. He was an avid Tennessee Volunteers fan. Melvin was ordained as a deacon on October 26, 1997. He served his church in Knoxville from October of 1997 until November of 2013. He started serving at his current church in 2013 and was a member of The Church of God of the Union Assembly of Chattanooga.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Dennis Coley. He is survived by his wife: Deborah Janell Touton Coley of Rossville, GA, their children: James Coley of Cookeville, TN, Joye (Geary) Roberts of Ringgold, GA, Jeff (Amanda) Theobald of Hixson, TN, brothers: Jesse (Mary) Coley of Dalton, GA, Thomas (Genieva) Coley of LaFayette, GA, six grandchildren: Claudia Coley, Jasmine Belford, Shelby Kay Coley, Jude Theobald, Jackson Coley and Adia Theobald, several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday – February 23, 2025 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm, with the funeral service to follow at 5:00 pm at The Life Center of East Ridge Methodist Church located at 1601 Prater Road, Chattanooga, TN 37412 with Pastors: Charlon Brafford and Allen Massengill officiating. Burial will follow Monday – February 24, 2025 at 11:00 am at Lakewood Memory Gardens-South, Rossville, GA 30741. Jeff Theobald, TJ Brafford, Keaton Brafford, Jordan Smith, Cody Faulkner, Timmy Faulkner, Geary Roberts and Drake Morgan will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements by W.L.
