Steven Wayne Degitz age 76, of Ringgold, Georgia went home to be with The Lord Tuesday – December 9, 2025. He was born in Payette, Idaho to the late Charles Lewis and Yvonne White Degitz. He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1967 to 1972. Steven earned a bachelor degree in Philosophy and Theology. He is the former Chief of Police for Wilder, Idaho. He worked many years in management with Radio Shack and Dollar General Stores. Steven was an ordained minister and a member of Chattanooga Valley Church of The Nazarene. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and reading. Steven was one of the kindest, gentlest, caring people you would ever want to meet, to know him was to love him. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters: Vickie Schaffan, Patricia Degitz and brother: Richard Degitz. He is survived by his wife: Paula Jean Carr Degitz of Ringgold, GA, and their children: Lamona Ruth (Robert) Tabor of Florence, Oregon, Brian Degitz of Denver, Colorado, Tiffany Annette Degitz of Florida, Jenny (Branden) Peterson of Ringgold, Georgia, Michael (Kelci) Kelly of Chattanooga, Tennessee, fifteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Friday from 11:00 am until the service. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm – Friday – December 12, 2025 in the chapel with Pastor Roger Hutcheson officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens-South, Rossville, Georgia.
