Mr. William Gregory Williamson “Grover” age 71, of Fort Payne, Alabama passed away Sunday morning, January 11, 2026. Greg was born in St. Elmo, Tennessee to the late Grover Audie Williamson and Evelyn Gregory Williamson. He was a former resident of northwest Georgia for many years, a graduate of Chattanooga Valley High School 1973. He is a former employee of Brock and Blevins, Astec Industries and BlueScope as a Welder/Fitter. Greg enjoyed fishing, raising cattle and life on his farm with many buggy rides. He was a member of Nazareth Baptist Church in Rainsville, Alabama.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister: Gail Melton. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty two years, Mrs. Cindy Williamson of Fort Payne, AL., their children: Jennifer (Dallas) Patrick of Chickamauga, GA., Jeremy Williamson of Dayton, Ohio, grandchildren: Mason and Sadie Rae Patrick of Chickamauga, GA., sisters: Marie Bryson of Flintstone, GA, Edna Ann Shelton of Salem, Oregon, Laura Williamson of Flintstone, GA, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Greg was a son, brother, husband, daddy and a “fun” Poppa but he was also an example of the Christian Standard for what a Godly Man should be! The family would like to thank everyone at Enhabit Hospice for the care and love provided in these last days.
The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Tuesday after 9:00 am until the service. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, January 13, 2026 in the chapel with Pastor Jason Bell officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens-South, Rossville, Georgia.
