Dorothy Faye Guffey Hawkins age 83, of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia went home to be with The Lord Monday, April 21, 2025. She was born in Wildwood, Georgia to the late Lawerence Edward Guffey, Sr., and Mary Edith Bowman Guffey. She was a former employee of J.C. Penny Department Store and the Catoosa County Board of Education where she worked in the cafeteria at Graysville Elementary for many years. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Rossville, where she was a former Sunday School teacher and served on several committees. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband: Billy “Bill” Ray Hawkins, sister: Mary Ruth Hill and brother: John Dewayne Guffey. She is survived by her daughter: Glenda Faye (Jeff) Simpson of Rock Spring, GA, son: Gregory Ray “Hawkeye” Hawkins of Menlo, GA, brothers: Lawerence Edward Guffey, Jr., of Lakeview, GA, George Grady Guffey of Red Bank, TN, grandchildren: Nicole (Scott) Moreland, Ryan (Michelle) Simpson, Heather and Jordan Hawkins, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday at the funeral home after 11:00 am. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm – Thursday – April 24, 2025 in the chapel with Pastors: Randy Chestnut and Bobby Walston officiating. Burial will follow in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park, Rossville, Georgia. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Jimmy Simpson Foundation at 9558 North Highway 27 – Rock Spring, Georgia 30739. Arrangements are by W.L.
