Myrtle Louise Butler, age 83, of Chickamauga passed away on Monday, August 5, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis “Red” Cochran and Pirl Arnold Cochran; and siblings, Charlie Lee Cochran, Effie McCormick, Mary Ware, Wallace Cochran, Walter “Hobo” Cochran, Grace Nave, Doris Autry, Joyce Massey Russell, and Sue Ware.
Myrtle was a Godly woman and was a charter member of Way Of The Cross Baptist Church for 54 years. She was known as Nanna Myrtle to everyone who knew her and had a passion for cooking.
She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Robert Butler; daughter, Lisa (Jeff) Baker; sons, Wesley (Sonia) Butler and Greg (Tracie) Butler; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, John (Rene) Cochran; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 5:00 pm Friday, August 9, at Way Of The Cross Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Dunwoody officiating.
Interment will take place at Coulter Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Parrish, Donnie Parrish, Connie Parrish, Geno Langston, Hunter Langston, and Lucas Baker.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 8, with a second visitation held from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Friday, both at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
