Orville Eugene Mayberry, 79, of Chickamauga, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, August 21, 2023. He was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on February 21, 1944 to the late, John Raymond Mayberry & Myrtle (May) Mayberry and was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga & North Georgia area. He attended Community Baptist Church and was the Owner & Operator with Morgan Drive Away for many years. He was a member of the Lions Club, had served as a Missionary in Belize, Central America for more than 20 years and was a loving and devoted brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend that will be truly missed by all who knew him. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Willie Mae (Steele) Morrow and two brothers, Ivan Steele and G.L. Steele.

Survivors include his loving wife of more than 61 years LaBelle (Wood) Mayberry; children, Tina McKaig, Kimberly Parsons and Gene Mayberry, II; brother, Bobby Mayberry; sister-in-law, Alice Ruth Wooten; 4 grandchildren, Rickey Webb, Robbie Mayberry, Brandon Parsons and Ory Mayberry; 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family & friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 23, 2023 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Bro. Mike Angel & Gary Crawford officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakewood South Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday and prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
