Patrick Jason Kelley

Patrick Jason Kelley of Kennesaw, Georgia, passed away in Atlanta, Georgia, on June 10, 2024, at the age of 50, following a year-long illness.
Patrick was born in Huntington, West Virginia, on August 4, 1973. He spent his formative years in Chickamauga, Georgia, and graduated from Gordon Lee High School in 1991, earning the nickname “Machine Gun Kelley” for his exceptional basketball skills. In 2002, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Georgia State University. He built a successful career, most recently employed with Airgas in Kennesaw, and spent most of his adult life in the Atlanta, Georgia, area.
Patrick proudly served nearly seven years in the United States Navy, stationed in Groton, Connecticut. He traveled extensively around the world, much of it under the sea, experiencing the unique challenges and camaraderie of life on a submarine. His family is deeply proud of his service to our country.
Patrick is survived by his beloved daughter, Savannah Kelley Oliver, and her husband, Ryan Oliver. He was a devoted grandfather ("Pac Pac") to Isaac Oliver, age 10, and Wren Oliver, age 2 1/2, who brought immense joy to his life. Additionally, he is survived by his brother, Shawn Kelley, and his parents, Frank and Barbara Kelley, and Jim and Susan Micka.
To know Patrick was to witness his deep love for family, strong friendships, passion for sports, and unwavering dedication to the United States Navy. A memorial service will be held at Oakwood Baptist Church on Saturday, June 29, at 1:00 p.m. in the children’s building. A time of visitation will precede the service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. His father, Pastor Frank Kelley, and his brother, Shawn Kelley, will officiate the memorial service. Honoring his wishes, Patrick will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
