Patsy “Pat” Boring Worde Shipp

Patsy “Pat” Boring Worde Shipp, age 87, received her heavenly reward on Sunday, March, 30, 2025, after an extended illness. Patsy was happily employed at a branch of the Bank of LaFayette in Rock Spring, GA, until retirement. She loved her customers and her employers, making her work a joy in her life. Patsy particularly enjoyed her participation in the Special Olympics and the Optimist Club. Her hobbies included reading, listening to music, and walking through the Chickamauga Battlefield. She loved nothing more than having a houseful of her family gathered for any occasion at all.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, P.D. and Sally Boring of Dalton, GA; brothers J.D. Boring of Wallin, TN, Fred Boring of Dalton, GA, Lamar Boring of Cohutta, GA, Marlin Boring of Dalton, GA, and her sister Sylvia Daniels of Southaven, MS.

Patsy is survived by her children, Randy (Gail) Worde of Cleveland, TN and Cynthia Worde of Atlanta, GA; her siblings June Peterson of Maryville, TN, Ruth Reynolds of Crandall, GA, David (Sharon) Boring of Dalton, GA, Marvin (Judy) Boring of Dalton, GA and Sally Hamby of East Ridge, TN; her grandchildren, Heather (Steven) Duncan of Calhoun, GA and Donald (Alma) Humphreys of Round Rock, TX; her great grandchildren Logan and Camden Duncan of Calhoun, GA. Patsy also enjoyed and loved her many nieces and nephews.

It was Pat’s wish for the family to celebrate her life privately. The interment will be held at Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park immediately following the service.
