Paula Jean Bruce SoensChickamauga

Paula Jean Bruce Soens, age 60, of Chickamauga, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025.
She was born in Harvey, Illinois, to the late Paul Bruce Sr. and Patricia Jefferies Bruce. In 2016, Paula moved to North Georgia from Hammond, Indiana, where she had lived with her late husband, William Soens.
Paula dedicated more than 20 years to her career as a veterinary technician before retiring. Her love for animals extended well beyond her profession—she never missed a chance to care for or connect with them, often stopping during her travels to greet cows in nearby fields. She also found great joy in fishing anywhere she could find water, embracing the peace and simplicity of the outdoors.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Stacey (Michael) Burnett and Tommy (Leslie) Gilbert; her siblings, Penney Malley Snelius and Paul Bruce Jr.; her grandchildren, Kea Brook, Dylan, Caleb, Logan, Alyssa, Piper, Cameron, and Bentley; as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
