Peggy Jean Ware, 81, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, formerly of South Pittsburg, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 9, 2025, after an eight-month battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born to the late Ben and Willie Mae Teeters in Hollywood, Alabama. Peggy loved her family, plants, purses, and had a flair for style. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed seeing others savor the meals she prepared for them. Peggy dearly loved her family and was always eager to see what everyone was up to on Facebook. Peggy was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Willie Mae Teeters; her husband, Billy Joe Ware of South Pittsburg, Tennessee; her daughter, Cheryl Higgins of South Pittsburg, Tennessee; her grandson, Zachary Evans of Henagar, Alabama; and her siblings, Brenda Faye Farley, Benny Fred Teeters, and Larry Teeters.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving children, Robert Lewis (Shelia) Ware, Billie Marie Ware, and William Joseph (Leigh) Ware, along with twenty-five grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and friends. Her legacy lives on in their hearts and in every life she touched with her compassion, her laughter, and her fierce love.
