1947-2025
Polly Anne “MeMaw” Wooten Wiley, age 78, of Chickamauga, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 4, 2025.
Born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Polly was the daughter of the late Burnam Euclaid Wooten and Mary Canzady Wright Wooten. A lifelong resident of the Chickamauga area, she was of the Baptist faith and known for her deep love for her family and community.
Polly retired in 2006 after more than 40 years of dedicated service at Synthetic Industries. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Polly had a heart for service and touched many lives through her warm hospitality—whether by cooking meals, making quilts, or offering a listening ear. She was an avid reader, a devoted Elvis fan, and never passed up a scoop of her favorite black walnut ice cream.
In addition to her parents, Polly was preceded in death by her siblings, Mellie Voiles, Alfred Wooten, Nancy Goins, Thomas Wooten, James Wooten, Grover Wooten, Charles Wooten.
She is survived by her children, Teresa Wilson and Robert (Sherrie) Wiley Jr.; grandchildren, Gavin Leigh Wiley, Rachael Ann Wiley, and Katherine Canzady “Zady” Hall; great-grandchildren, Warren and Audrey; as well as several cherished nieces and nephews.
A private family celebration of Polly’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Homes - Chickamauga Chapel.
