Prill Henry Porter, 83 of East Ridge, TN, went home to be with Jesus on May 7th, 2023.
Prill was a faithful Christian, husband, and father. He was fun-loving, loved to make people laugh, and was always actively involved in the lives of his children and grandchildren. He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area and a proud Navy Veteran. Prill worked for ICI Americas Volunteer Army Ammunition Plant for 30 years and as a security guard at the Chattanooga Choo Choo for 13 years before retiring.
Prill was preceded in death by his parents, Meredith Lee and Cornelia Porter; son, Stephen Lee Porter and several extended family members.
Prill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Evelyn Porter; daughter, Stephenie (Tim) Newcom; grandchildren: Joe (Lindi) Porter, Sara (Josh) Walker, Makayla and Seth Newcom; great grandchildren: Ridley and Maverick Walker; his twin sister, Jill Cooper and several extended family members.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 11th, 2023 from 4-8pm and Friday May 12th, 2023 from 11am-1pm in the South Crest Chapel.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1pm in the South Crest Chapel with interment to follow in the Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
