Rena Elizabeth SandersonChickamauga

Rena Elizabeth Sanderson, 77, of Chickamauga, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025. She was born in Crossville, Tennessee, to the late Romy Hardin and Grace Hamill. Rena was a lifelong resident of the Northwest Georgia area and was a member at The Gathering Church in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. Rena worked for Red Lobster for over forty years. She has worked at the Dalton location since it opened many years ago. In 2023, Rena was awarded the Red Lobster District Employee of the Year. Her co-workers, customers, and family were very proud of her accomplishments. Rena never met a stranger and was always kind and big-hearted, willing to help anyone. She dearly loved her family and went above and beyond to ensure they knew they were loved and cared for. Rena was a very loving, sweet, kind-hearted person and will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Rena is preceded in death by her parents, Romy Harding and Grace Hamill; her son, Robert Dean Sanderson; her sister, Margie Hughes; and her life partner and friend, Margaret Hinson.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Tara Lynn Sanderson of Chickamauga, David Mitchell Sanderson of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Jimmy Lee (Susie) Hinson, Jr. of Tunnel Hill, Georgia, and Jeffery Leon Hinson of Chickamauga, Georgia; sister, Candy (Jeff) Johnson; granddaughter, Ashley (Matt) Wilson; great-grandchildren, Oakley, Kendall and Abigail; and several much-loved nieces and nephews.

The family has arranged for a time to remember and honor Rena. Friends and family are invited to join us on Friday, April 4, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The family appreciates your prayers and support during this difficult time.
