Reverend Bobby Earl Wilson
April 23, 1953 - July 5, 2024

Reverend Bobby Earl Wilson age 71, of Rossville, Georgia went home to be with his Lord and Savior Friday – July 5, 2024. He was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late Wallace Edward and Frances Lucille Holt Wilson. He lived his childhood in Soddy Daisy, Tennessee and was a graduate of Soddy Daisy High School. He resided most of his adulthood in the Rossville and Flintstone, Georgia communities. He retired from the Catoosa County Board of Education where he worked as a custodian at Battlefield Elementary School. Bobby loved The Lord and had a servant’s heart. He served as Pastor of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Chattanooga, TN for the past fourteen years. He had also served as deacon, Sunday School teacher, sang in the choir and sang specials at his former churches: Shiloh, Mount Olive, Ridgecrest and Tunnel Boulevard Baptist Churches. After retirement Bobby worked on lawnmowers and small engines at his home, and mowed yards. You could always count on a smile and a conversation about The Lord when you met Bobby. If you received a card from Bobby & Bobbie Jean, it most likely had Galatians chapter two verse twenty: “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister: Sherry Wilson Powell and brother: Billy Ray Wilson. He is survived by his wife of almost fifty-two years: Mrs. Bobbie Jean Ridge Wilson of Flintstone, GA, their sons: J. Paul (Crystal) Wilson of Chattanooga, TN, Michael (Heather) Wilson of Ringgold, GA, granddaughter or better known as Bobbie’s pride and joy: Kayla Wilson of Ringgold, GA, three brothers: David (Tina) Wilson of Soddy Daisy, TN, Reverend Ronnie (Anna) Wilson of Hixson, TN, Leon (Marie) Wilson of Dayton, TN, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Monday morning prior to the service. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am – Monday – July 8, 2024 in the chapel with Reverend Toney Wilson and Gary Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens-East, Chattanooga, Tennessee. Arrangements by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Homes – Fort Oglethorpe Chapel. Online guest book at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com
