Rhonda H. Waddell
June 15, 1962 ~ July 19, 2023

Rhonda Starr “Sissy” Hancock Waddell, 61, of Rossville, GA peacefully passed away in her sleep on Wednesday, July 19, 2023. Rhonda was born in Covington, KY, was a 1981 graduate of Rossville High School, and lived her life in the Rossville area. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles “FOE” 2942. She held many crafts over her lifetime but found her calling most in caring for the elderly. Rhonda was a selfless person and always put others first. Her imprint will forever be upon those she loved and touched with her life. Rhonda’s happiest moments could be found among family and friends, spending weekends at the lake, long kayak rides, quilting, reading, and absorbing as much about Jesus that she could.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin “Red” and Barbara Hancock; brother, Jeff; grandparents, Gene and Ada Hughes; and great grandmother, Albenie Tucker.

Survivors include her husband, Rick of Rossville, GA; daughter, Brittley; stepson, Tristan; brothers, Franklin “Junior” of East Ridge, TN and Billy (Karen) of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA; many nieces and nephews; step-granddaughter, Jessica Thompson; and very special little man, Kaiden Sloan.

Condolences may be shared with the family at www.lane-southcrestchapel.com.

Rhonda wishes to spend eternity with her husband Rick, so their ashes will be spread, together, on a later date at the lake.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 10:00a.m. at Chester Frost Park. We invite everyone who knew her to attend, share their stories, and remember her wonderful life. If you have a picture of Rhonda, please bring it to the Celebration of Life so we can put it in a photo album.

Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville, GA.
