Richard Lee Lewis, age 74, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 19, 2025. He was raised in Blanche, Alabama before attending Auburn University and earning a bachelor's degree in business. After graduating from Auburn University, his wife Judy and himself moved to Albany, Georgia for a few years before residing in Dalton, Georgia. He lived most of their life in Dalton and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church for over thirty years. Most recently, he was a member of Rock Bridge Community Church. In his free time, Richard enjoyed reading and watching Auburn Football.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Judy Lewis, parents, Charlie Lewis and Audrey Burkhalter Lewis; sister, Nancy Roe; brothers, Edward Lewis, David Lewis, and granddaughter, Avery Cardin.
Richard is survived by his children, Amy (Chad) Cardin, Chris (Misty) Lewis, Tim (Jenny) Lewis; brother, John (Brenda) Lewis; grandchildren, Audrey, Will, Charlie, Elizabeth, Savannah, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
