Robert “Bob” GilliamChattanooga, TN

Robert “Bob” Gilliam, age 78, of Chattanooga, TN passed away April 28, 2023.

Bob proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps for 17 years and was a lifetime member of the VFW post #3679 and the American Legion post #214. He was an artist, poet and loved fishing and antique cars. He retired from Brown Collection Agency.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Lucille “Hogsett” Gilliam; sister, Mary Margaret Gilliam; brother, Steven “Butch” Gilliam.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Dina “O’Neal” Gilliam, children, Steve (Cindy) Gilliam, Robert Gilliam, Amy (Scott) Guillory, Leslie Creasman; step-children, T.J. (Patricia) Barkley, Stacy Trammel; brother, Ronald “Ronnie” Gilliam; seventeen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, May 4, 2023 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm- 8:00 pm on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 and from 9:00 am until the service time on Thursday at the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel of Wilson’s Funeral Home.
