Robert “Bobby” Hill Hewitt Jr., age 67, of Villanow, GA, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 5, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert H. Hewitt and Mary Morrison Hewitt.
His career spanned over 50 years – From the GA Forestry, 20+ years at Queen Carpet, R&B Construction (with his best friend Randy Morgan), and C&M Fleet Repair Service where he retired. Throughout his career, he made countless lifelong friends who will fondly remember his laugh, personality, and dedication.
An avid outdoorsman, you could always find Bobby on a boat fishing or in a field metal detecting for relics. He enjoyed history and always loved sharing his knowledge through storytelling and showing his relic findings to others.
He began playing the guitar and singing when he was a young boy and spent his entire life sharing the love of music with everyone he met. His talent crossed all genres, from Rock and Roll to R&B to Gospel, he could play any song from memory effortlessly.
Bobby truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures. He left his mark on this world, as all who knew him treasured him. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all – He never met a stranger.
Bobby was a devoted follower of Christ, whose life was a testament to His love and grace. He leaves behind a legacy of love and a profound impact on all who knew him. We find comfort in the promise of eternal life in Christ and the hope of one day being reunited with him in His kingdom.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Cherie Hewitt; daughters, Rebecca (Tony) Robertson and Chasitiy (Richie) Hurtt; son, Jeremiah Scott (Janelle) Hewitt; several grandchildren; brother, Gary (Kathy) Hewitt; and several nieces and nephews.
